This book takes quite a bit of concentration,and is too complex for young children.It is much better suited for adults or highly motivated teens.Also,the author takes the stand which essentially says”my religion is better than yours”by constantly reminding us that only believers in Christ will go to heaven,regardless of their record of good deeds.This obviously would be quite traumatic to kids of non christian religions.

This book is an excellent read for your kids to understand heaven. I pre-read it before giving it to my kids. Randy does a great job in bringing it down to their level with language that the kids are used to.

When we found out my father in law was dying of pancreatic cancer, one of our main concerns was how to deal with it with our kids. This book was a great resource, especially for our introspective 11 year old. She was able to read it on her own and ponder the chapters. It gave her great comfort to know that because of Grandpa’s faith in Christ, he has a promise of eternity in heaven – free from any more pain or suffering. She also like to read that heaven is going to be exciting and active – not a bunch of cloud-sitting and harp playing. In fact she said, “Now that I’ve learned more about what heaven will be like, I’m a little jealous that Grandpa gets to go so soon.” I highly recommend for any family in a similar situation.

I purchased this book for my 12 year old grandson and he really enjoyed it. He was the one who gave it the 5 stars. I have not started reading my book yet. He said that it did answer questions that he had had and was thrilled when he discovered that his Dad’s dog would be in Heaven waiting for him! Truth be known, I was originally drawn to the book because of the author’s last name which just happens to be my maiden name!
