I recently ordered 4 adult coloring books. Of the 4, this Paisley Designs book caught my eye first. I’ve colored three pictures in this book so far and plan to color many more. I feel the designs are creative and varied. The designs are on both sides of the pages and some have very teeny, tiny details that need to be colored in. A sharp pencil is a must. Because some of the areas are so small, I am considering purchasing a magnifying product for future coloring projects.

At first, I used my old colored pencils, but found it difficult to keep a point on them. I purchased Crayola Twistable Colored Pencils and had a much easier time coloring the tiny spaces that are in some of the designs. I always put a piece of notebook paper directly behind the page I’m coloring to protect those pages. I found that the pressure I use when coloring the page will cause the black ink, used in the book, to transfer onto the pages that are behind the one I’m coloring. The black ink is transferred onto the notebook paper instead, keeping the pages behind the one I’m coloring neater.

I’m having fun with this book and can’t wait til I have time to color another picture.

Excellent coloring book for the adult! I had a lot of fun with it. My only problem with it is that if you color the designs with markers as I did, they bled through to the design on the other page, thus cutting the available images in half, which was disappinting. Why can’t they make thicker paper for these books?
