I’m amazed that in these reviews, not more was made about the ending chapter in which the author describes the death of John Lennon by Mark David Chapman and that Chapman “heard voices in his head” and was “mentally ill.” My seven year old son has autism and loves, loves, loves The Beatles. I wanted to get him a book that was at his reading level and after reading the glowing reviews by parents of kids as young as six, I was sure this would be ideal. But I would not buy this item for any child with developmental disabilities. The last thing I want my child to worry about is if his autism would connect in any way to Mark David Chapman and his mental instability. It would’ve been better had the author just wrote that Lennon died and was shot – in the same way he described Harrison’s death, which was due to cancer. I don’t mind explaining to my child what the world is comprised of, good and bad, but this book takes how I would like that to go out of my hands. So no, I will be returning this item or reselling.

My son who is in 2nd grade had to write a biography report. He chose to report on The Beatles. This book was perfect! It gave him all the necessary information and it was just right for his age level. We both learned a lot from reading this book.

I have an on going gift giving to my nephew. I read a few books in a series and give them to him as

gifts until I have read the entire series. He enjoys it for one thing I sign each book with a little saying

in each of them. The last series was 90 books. It gives me a reason for reading something enjoyable and doesn’t

take a lot of my time. This Beatles book really was very well written and it told a great story on

the FAB 4. So much, that the “Who Was Series?” is the books I will be giving my nephew. My mother, who is over 70 also is reading the books and enjoys them. Although they do talk about death in these books, I’ve read ten, so far,

I think each author has been very professional about the subject. As a Beatles fan I say outstanding!!!

Everyone in my family is a Beatles fan. Our 6 y.o. daughter does not know life without the Beatles. We decided to buy her this book, so she could read up on them. This book relates on a child’s level the story of the Fab Four from when they were children. I loved it so much that I ordered more copies to donate to my daughter’s elementary school library, 1st grade classroom library, and I plan to order another for her 2nd grade library. This should be on every child’s reading list.
